“Malagash Moon” is a 17 X 13 1/2 inch acrylic on canvas that represents a full moon over the beach at Malagash where the Sandeson family cottage was once located. I am certain the old copper moon, the rocks, sand, and tidal zig-zags still reveal their mysteries at night.
It is a beautiful beach, located along the Northern shore of Nova Scotia, between the communities of Tatamagouche and Wallace. I have warm memories of wading into the sandy low tide with my young family, spying on the little shrimps and hermit crabs that scuttle for shelter under the rocks.
This piece is part of the Primordial Dawn series, and available at the Fraser Cultural Centre in Tatamagouche this July 2017.
